In 2007 I participated in co-operation Arch Parei with Stefania and Laura Vuillermoz the international architectural competition proposed by eVolo architectures.
eVolo Architecture was founded by a group of architects in 2003 with headquarters in New York City. Since 2006 this competition has always been proposed with the aim of creating a discussion forum on the development of new ideas of the architectural design of the XXI century.
This theme is interesting in that it allows you to explore, rethink and experiment with a new idea that could change the skyscraper's conception and redefine the term skyscraper . A journey into the unknown that defies the logic of this , which formulates new questions, and that perhaps is can offer the company a new building type. A building for future generations, which adapt to the sudden change in society, capable of increasing the capabilities and perceptions.
The competition did not provide any restriction as regards shape, site, intended use or size.
What does "skyscraper" at the beginning of the XXI century? What is the historical and social context in which these mega-structures? In that mod or grattac IELO connects to the city and the city with it? The skyscraper, by itself, can be regarded as a city within a city? It has lost sight of the design on a human scale through the construction of the skyscraper?
These are the questions that my group design has been placed and to which we have tried to to answer through our research.
motivazone In tribute to this, we chose to drop our project in the city of New York. More specifically, the choice fell on Roosevelt Island, a place we consider the "key" that could potentially connect two parts of the city of New York tradizionelmante and culturally very different: Manhattan and Queens.
The particular elongated island, like that of a ship, with the ends "tapered" at bow and stern, he has inspired and directed to choose the southern tip as a site for the idea ' location of the skyscraper. Dominant and privileged position because it has a view of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
The plan of the building, or rather the building proge Overall I ttati is triangular: this is a perfect equilateral triangle with one apex pointing south even further emphasizes this aspect. The new structure sorceress, imagined coated glass mirror, which seems to arise from the water on the glass reflects the surrounding landscape cha, and the society it affects.
The natural world has inspired the whole design process. The observation of natural forms, especially their structure and mechanism of growth, led us to study the fractal, being the lowest common multiple of living beings.
CONCEPT The concept is to test the application of fractal geometry and its characteristics in the architectural field, for the development of the skyscraper project. This process is most evident by observing developments in building the plant.
The fractal dimension, chaos and the characteristic of self-similarity, are all elements that can be found in the project, because inherent in it.
volumetric composition
The result of the volumetric composition was achieved by extrusion of the triangles located at the end of the generator and the central hexagon.
This operation took place following a modular criterion: the length of each side of the triangle is 45metri, height dell'interpiano is 5metri. The module is
then a box with a triangular base (equilateral triangle with side equal to 45m) and height of 45m, so the module has a square face on the face of 45x45metri. Each module consists of 9 floors.
The towers were different heights: the smallest is made 5moduli, the average of 6 and 7 from the great. Thus, the complex of skyscrapers is not squat.
In order to make it more streamlined each tower, and then the entire complex, each tower was "pulled" along the tables, and the final form of each tower was cut to 45 degrees.

4) Division into modules 45x45x45 m
5) 45 ° cut last modu
6) Remove the statement of towers
The vertical connection is through the element that is hexagonal in each tower and that includes the so-called "heart" of the skyscraper, or the stairs and elevators.
The horizontal links connecting the towers to each other, but at different heights. The horizontal link connecting the three towers and two at a time, turning counterclockwise.

Bioclimatic & Bioarchitettura
Architecture Bioclimatic, which should not be confused with bio-architecture, is based on a living model that meets the requirements of comfort with the passive control of the microclimate, understood as a strategy to minimize the use of mechanical equipment, maximize the efficiency of trade between the building and the environment.
The regulation of the internal microclimate is achieved by carefully monitoring the geometrical, localization and technology of building construction. The concept of bioclimatic
is deeply linked to the awareness that technological progress can be overridden in endurance nell'esauribilità environment and natural resources. The main phenomena that impact negatively on the state of the environment created by the need of large amounts of non-renewable energy.
In this sense, a key role is played precisely by bioclimatic architectural design, and in particular the energy efficiency of the built environment, because a large amount of greenhouse gas pollution comes from your air conditioning and heating systems.
Starting from the assumptions above, and the definition of bioclimatic architecture, understood as the complex design solutions that can ensure, within a building, the maintenance of comfort conditions by using the least possible systems that require energy from depletable sources (not renewable), the first project phase is the appearance bioclimatic joined the architectural design.
This happened during the writing process, or by linking the shape of the individual towers and the entire complex, with the possible renewable energy in the present context, so as to maximize the exploitation of the latter.
In other words, we tried to design a building able to establish a close and interdependent relationship with the environment external to it, so as to disperse small amounts of heat when it is very cold, capture solar energy during the daytime (especially in winter), store it and use it when necessary, reject the sun's rays during the hot season, in which, however, is expected to lose heat to the outside so conspicuous.
bioclimatic behavior was induced, that is created, the building through a series of design features and the use of suitable configurations planimetric and formal.
During the planning phase, the factors were taken into account first, as they affect the heat transfer were: the location, shape and orientation of the towers. The facades of the towers have
greenhouses that have been placed following a precise criterion logical. They are 15m high, which comprise three storeys high 5m each, and rotate counterclockwise on each side of each tower.
Schematic distribution of greenhouses built in the towers , mention was also made that the ecological thinking to predict the location of photovoltaic devices on top of the towers, or where the cuts were made at 45 °.
